There’s so much to see in Hawaii, sometimes the best way to go sightseeing is to see everything all at once. Perhaps the simplest way to do that is to jump out of a plane.
Global Discovery Vacations Member, David G., chose to make his first jump over the great scenery of Oahu.
“I like extreme sports,” he said, “If I was going to die jumping from a plane, I was going to do it looking at God’s greatest work.”
David hopped out of the plane from 14,000 feet in the air, which is a couple thousand feet higher than most skydiving excursions. The whole trip down took about a minute while his jumpmaster, who is also in the picture, pointed out landmarks as they fell to the earth.
His photo captures the true essence of travel: bold new experiences, stunning landscapes and pure elation (notice the “hang loose” shaka sign he’s sporting). It’s not an exaggeration to think this trip may have even changed his life.
“That was my first time going to Hawaii. I’ve pretty much committed my life to moving there now,” David said. “Through Global, I’m going back in February. If you really want to know, it’s in 261 days, but who’s counting?”
Born and raised in Michigan, he never traveled outside of the state that much growing up. With the help of Global Discovery Vacations, he’s able to explore the world. But no place has moved him more than the Aloha State.
David has worked so many hours at his current job that plans on retiring in a few years by the time he’s 40. By retiring, he means packing up, shipping off to Hawaii and driving a tour bus on the side. He’ll see every inch of the beautiful island and give people joy in the process.
Considering his passion and by how much he reads up on the islands, it seems like that’s where David belongs.
“Hawaii was the only place I’ve ever been where I knew I was home,” he said.
With is prize of an annual renewal fee paid, David can plan to see more of the world on Global Connections. Or is a return to Hawaii in store?
