Global Discovery Vacations member Pauline F. and her husband recently spent a week in Orlando with some friends – and they left the kids at home. What is there to do in Orlando without going to the amusement parks? Pauline tells us in our first Member Monday of 2018!
Where would you recommend a fellow member go to…
We ate at Zimmies on property, where the food was very good, service was excellent and the entertainment was fun. One evening, they had karaoke. No one was shy, so my hubby joined in. It was so much fun that we had to go back another night.
We also went to a magic/comedy show on property that included a pizza buffet. We never laughed so hard, enjoying the laid back easiness of the evening.
What was your favorite…
Sheraton Vistana Resort was beautiful. It is spread out on a huge property that has been designed extremely well with seven heated pools, hot tubs, exercise rooms, 18-hole mini golf course, bars and restaurants featuring various entertainment.
The units are beautifully decorated as well as having perfectly landscaped grounds to enjoy.
There are shuttles that will come to your unit to take you wherever you would like to go on the property. There is no charge for this. Or you can choose to get your exercise in by walking on the paths meandering through the grounds.
The employees here are there to make you feel at home – always smiling and ready to help with whatever you need. Even though the Sheraton Vistana is an immense resort where a person could easily feel like “just a number,” they had a way of making you feel as if you were a welcoming part of a small community.
Place to go in the destination:
Why did you choose this destination?
I’m the trip planner and after scrolling through Global’s condos site for Florida, I came across the Sheraton Vistana in Orlando. Several times in the past we had taken grandchildren to Disney World, but this was not the attraction for us on this visit.
Were you traveling for a special occasion?
We didn’t bring any children with us – we just wanted to get out of the cold Pennsylvania weather.
What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
Our best friends who are also Global Discovery Vacations members joined us on this trip. They live on the other side of the state from us, so traveling to the same destination to meet up for a good time together is one of the perks we enjoy with Global. We would recommend joining to anyone, and we have! Thank you Global!
How long have you been a Global Discovery Vacations member?
My husband and I joined Global Discovery Vacations four years ago and have had many vacations through the membership.
Why did you join the club?
Friends of ours joined a few years before us and shared a trip with us, so we knew what we were getting into. We are retired so traveling now is a major part of our lives that made these golden years worth waiting for.
