This past week was a typical first round: A number of huge blowouts, a few upsets and some close matches mixed in.
We’re of course talking about the Global Discovery Vacations Activities Bracket, which we expect will have some tougher matchups as we narrow down the list. Beaches made a bold statement in Round 1, but let’s see if another pastime can separate itself from the pack. Our contestants:
Nature Hikes vs. Museums/Landmarks
Is there a right or wrong path to enrichment? We bet you can find it through either an introspective walk in the wilderness or from an interactive museum. There’s a lot to learn out there, you just need to open to the environment. Which one do you find more fulfilling?
Wineries/Breweries vs. Beaches
The beach was the big winner in Round 1, raking in a whopping 95 percent of the vote against snowsports. But while beaches are the ultimate vacation hotspot to play in the sun, don’t underestimate the flavors of an authentic culinary experience. Wineries in particular are as popular as ever, giving visitors the ability to buy a favorite wine online. It’s just like a little piece of your vacation that never has to end. But is that enough to pry you away from the beach?
Live Entertainment vs. Cruising
But what if you wanted to watch live entertainment on a cruise? OK, you got us there. So we have to ask which of those experiences is the most captivating to you? The spectacle of actors and performers displaying their art in real time or the luxurious nature of a mini society confined to the water?
Taking a Tour vs. National Parks
Tours (bus tours, safaris, guided tours) are great ways to explore and learn about an area when you want the full scope of the area and see the essential sights. But some of us like the freedom and discovery that places such as National Parks provide. Sure, you can tour a National Park, but which activity is most likely going on your itinerary?
Did the results from the first round surprise you? Make sure to vote for your favorites as we narrow down our final four!
Voting closes Friday, March 24, at midnight CST!
