Travel Playlist Essentials: Modern Hits

We already showed you our favorite classics, but there’s so much good music to go around, we couldn’t contain it all in on post.

This week, we’re giving you some modern artists putting a new spin on world travel. And remember to tell us what’s on your travel playlist for a chance to win a pair of Global Connections, Inc., headphones (details below)!

Red Hot Chili Peppers – “Around the World”

Singing about all the places they’ve visited while on tour in between indecipherable babble, Red Hot Chili Peppers leave us with a wonderful message I’m sure we can all agree on: “I know for sure that life is beautiful all around the world.”

OneRepublic – “Good Life”

One of the great feel-good anthems of this generation. As they list every place from Paris to China to Colorado, it’s clear that the best kind of lifestyle is a life well-traveled.

Fleet Foxes – “Blue Ridge Mountains”

A pleasant song about escaping to a cabin in Tennessee. Bonus points for singing about a place in which we have condos.

Damon Albarn – “Mr. Tembo”

This fun little tune is about an elephant from Tanzania who sadly lost his mother. But the vibes are uplifting and it brings positivity to unpredictability.

Lissie – “Wild West”

You’re only as free as you want to be.

Vampire Weekend – “Horchata”

When you’re feeling the cold of December but you’d rather feel the crabs pinching at your heels.

Weezer – “Island in the Sun”

The ultimate summer jam. Lay in the sand, soak up the sun and let your spirit run free.

Jason Mraz – “A World With You”

Just as there are an infinite amount of places you can go, there are limitless ways to love someone. A beautiful love ballad anchored by geography.

John Mayer – “3×5”

No amount of pictures, postcards or stories can describe the magnificent sights and sounds nature has for us. You just have to be there discover its true power.

Mumford and Sons – “Hopeless Wanderer”

“I will learn to love the skies I’m under” is one of the best lines out of all the songs mentioned here. Plus, the music video is five minutes of pure joy.

  1. My favorite travel song is Vacation by Thomas Rhett. I think the line ” party like we’re on vacation ” says it all
