The fields at the Gorge White House are bursting with beautiful flowers and delicious berries for picking.

The Hood River County Fruit Loop is just an hour away from Whispering Woods Resort in Welches, Oregon. Our own Corey T. visited this destination recently and raved about one of the few places that offers the complete experience of growing, producing, and enjoying fruit and wine. While there, you’ll find fruit stands, vineyards, alpacas and lavender farms. Corey highly recommends touring The Gorge White House, a historic home on a century old working farm where you can pick fruit, flowers and vegetables; sip on their own hard ciders and craft beers, and dine on farm fresh cuisine.

Stone Brewing Co. (Escondido, California)

Stone Brewing Co. is the No. 10 brewery on the Brewers Association List Top 50 Breweries of 2013. You can take a guided tour with Indoctrination Specialists who take you through the heart of this working brewery. You’ll learn all about the brewing process and craft beer culture during the 45 minute experience, ending with a guided tasting of this award-winning craft beer. Before or after your tour, dine at the Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens, serving locally grown, small-farm ingredients in a beautiful open-air patio with one-acre organic beer garden.

There you have it! Tequila, Moonshine, Rum, Wine and Beer—five places to tour and see how your favorite spirits are made. All recommend reservations. We recommend you don’t miss any of them!

  1. We went on the Mackinac Trail wine tour in northern Michigan. We had a great time. Ended up with 10 bottles. Highly recommended

    • If you’re coming away with 10 bottles, then it has to be good! We’ll have to check that out, thanks for the recommendation, Terry.
