Tips On Completing Your Bucket List

Selecting the winner for the Global Discovery Vacations Bucket List contest was much harder than I thought it would be. As I was going through the comments of what you all wish to accomplish and through the photos of what you have achieved, it was evident that we are all looking for fulfillment in our lives. A kind that can be realized through travel.

Some of your stories were incredible, making it exceptionally difficult to pick two winners from hundreds of entries. We read every single one of them and we will keep them nearby as a reminder of why we do what we do.

I noticed some common themes with people and their bucket lists, and I want to help everyone finish theirs. So I put together my best tips on how to use the membership and beyond to fulfill your bucket wishes.

Take a Vacation Day
Many of us think that there is too much work to be done and that is simply not true. When you’re faced with a high amount of stress at work, it’s more effective to take a vacation and recharge than to work yourself to the bone. Studies show that using your vacation days for actual vacations make you happier and improve your performance, so it’s a win-win. So if you have the opportunity to get paid while sitting on the beach, take it!

Book Early
As always, the key to getting the vacation you want using your Global Discovery Vacations travel club membership is to book or submit a request as soon as possible. Remember: For Value Season, you have to have your Vacation Week Request in at least 60 days in advance, though we suggest 12 month advance notice for the most popular locations.

Call Our Travel Agency – Alaska and Cruise

Alaska was a popular Bucket List destination, which isn’t considered a condominium resort destination. Your membership can still come in handy to get there with cruises, tours and more. Our Travel Agents have a wealth of knowledge and they can reserve hotels, transportation and airfare to fit your needs. Though you won’t be able to use Star Credits, there is a lot of flexibility with our Travel Agency.

Share Your Membership Benefits with Your Family
One of the great benefits of the Global Discovery Vacations membership is that your family members can use it, too. If you aren’t able to visit someplace you’ve always wanted to go, perhaps having a family member go is the next best thing. Though my grandfather accomplished much more than I ever will, he still found it exciting whenever I was able to do something he couldn’t get to. Sharing my experiences with him made it more meaningful and helped me better appreciate where I was and what I did. We all have our personal lists, but living vicariously through a loved one’s experiences can be just as fulfilling.

Thank you for sharing your stories with us. And, by all means, keep us posted on your bucket list progress by using #GDVBucketList. Tag us on Instagram @gdvacations, and share your comments below and on our Facebook page.

Better still, our vacation giveaway isn’t over yet! You still have time to enter our Shoot for the Stars Contest and earn fabulous prizes as well by sharing your vacation memories
