You’ve heard us tell you to reconfirm. It’s on your Global Discovery Vacations confirmations. We’ve written about it here on Global Travels Blog. We’re even implementing a reminder email. We’re shouting it off the rooftops. Why?
Because it’s vital to your vacation and it can mean the difference between having a unit and losing it.
“We’ve seen an increase in members not reconfirming their units and losing them,” Kyle Lyons, Global Connections Inventory Control Supervisor, said. “Some of our resorts have a strict policy for reconfirming. If the guest doesn’t follow the policy, the resort will assign the unit to someone else and we have no recourse.”
The simple fact is, if you don’t tell the resort you’re coming, they think you’re not showing up. The staff at the destination will in turn assign your condominium to an incoming guest who did reconfirm the unit so that their occupancy levels remain high.
“Resorts have varying procedures required to use their property,” Lyons said. “If our members don’t follow the guidelines set forth in their travel documents, they can end up in a smaller unit or perhaps with no unit. It’s out of our control so we can’t stress enough how important it is to follow the specific requirements on your Guest Reservation Confirmation.”

It’s so easy to make sure your reservation remains yours—reconfirm with one quick phone call. Look for the reconfirmation instructions on your Guest Reservation Confirmation. Procedures vary by property, so be sure to follow the instructions as printed.
If you don’t have your travel documents at least two weeks prior to your check-in date, call Customer Relations at 800-879-7779. And when you do travel, be sure to take all of the documents with you, too, for ease of check-in.
