Hefty snowfall, frigid temperatures and the isolated Montana mountains were all Kristen W. needed for a perfect vacation. Staying at the Crestwood Resort in Whitefish, Montana, she tells us why these were the best snowboarding conditions she’s ever experienced in this week’s Member Monday.
Where would you recommend a fellow member to go to…
Great Northern Bar and Grill. Great buffalo burgers and great food selection, even for Vegans – which I am not. Fast service and cheap beers.
You can shop anywhere in Whitefish or Kalispell. Keep in mind this is not a place you would go looking for a mall! It’s all local stuff and homemade craft artwork. The town of Whitefish is very cool and unique.
Whitefish Mountain! Five days of snowboarding in the best conditions I have ever had. It snowed five-six inches each night, it was warm in the mornings and there was very little wind all day. It was sunny or snowing with temperatures around 35 degrees all week! Couldn’t get much better.
About 30 minutes north there is Glacier National Park for hiking, sightseeing, etc. Epic scenery. Other attractions include multiple breweries in the area, Flathead Lake and casinos if you like to gamble.
Why did you choose this destination?
Friends live just outside of Whitefish.
Who did you travel with?
What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
The views from the summit with sun and snow.
Any tips for a traveler to this resort or destination? Anything you think they should bring?
Avalanche gear, snow shoes, hiking gear, Camelbak for water, if you have them. You can rent snow shoes at the mountain.
How long have you been a Global Discovery Vacations member?
This is my first year
Why did you join the club?
Heard about a promotional meeting for Global Discovery Vacations which included two free round trip flights.
What is your profession?
Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in sports, all orthopedic injuries, pediatrics and amputees.
How many trips have you taken using your membership?
This is my first trip using my membership and it was definitely worth investing in.
