Member Monday: Leaving Snow for the Warmth of Orlando

Hey, when the cold weather gets you down, pack your bags and head to somewhere warm. Global Discovery Vacations member Peggy D. had to escape the Midwest snow, so she used it as an excuse to hop down to Orlando, Florida, for a week at the Windsor Palms Resort. She shares her trip with us in this week’s Member Monday

Where would you recommend a fellow member to go to…
Miller’s Ale House. All of their food was good and they have a $13.99 prime rib special on Thursdays.

The area has many large gift shops with discounted prices. Very friendly.

Have fun/attractions:
Universal Studios and Kennedy Space Center. We didn’t stray much from the norm.

What was your favorite…
Resort/Condo Amenity:
Our resort had a small movie theater. We were able to pick out our own movies with 24-hour notice. It was an absolute treat!

Why did you choose this destination? Were you traveling for a special occasion?
Just a reason to get away from the Cleveland snow.

What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
Letting go of the daily stress and bickering, while bonding as a family. It was a much-needed break!

Any tips for a traveler to this resort or destination? Anything you think they should bring?
A rental car is important.
Side note: our rental car company required a deposit of two times our insurance deductible if we didn’t buy their insurance. This is due to Florida being a “no-fault” state.

Additional Comments:
We were initially apprehensive using Global Discovery Vacations because this was new territory for us, but we were delighted with the outcome. The condos were clean and comfortable and we did not encounter a single problem. We are looking forward to our next trip.
