Member Monday: The Best of Branson, Missouri

Peggy S. was excited to have a cabin in the mountains of Branson, Missouri. With so many attractions at her fingertips, Peggy and her husband were able to see many shows during their stay in the Cabins at Green Mountain. They shared their experience with Global Discovery Vacations members in today’s Member Monday!

Where would you recommend a fellow member to…
Eat
We usually cook in our resort unit. I enjoy using the kitchen and it saves money on our vacation expenses. We did, however, greatly enjoy a meal at Florentina’s Ristorante Italiano.

We loved the stage show that’s part of the Showboat Dinner Theater on the Branson Belle.

Have fun/attractions
Sight and Sound Theatres – we saw Joseph. Hope to see Noah when it comes.

Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Theater Production.

The Duttons (pictured above).

Acrobats of China.

Bicycling at Table Rock State Park and at the state park south of Branson.

Church Services – sometimes performers are part of the service.

What was your favorite:
Resort/Condominium Amenity or Room
We love this setting. It’s like being in the mountains at the same time that you are right next to a major town thoroughfare.

Why did you choose this destination?
Availability. It was a good stop on our way home from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Who did you travel with?
My husband. We are 76 and 78 and treasure the healthy years we are having together, knowing that at some point we will no longer be able to ride bicycles, hike and do all the active things we now enjoy.

Were you traveling for a special occasion? If yes, what?
Just to be together. The only occasion was to get away from the cold Nebraska winter, which is why we went to Florida and South Carolina, too.

What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
Some good friends moved from our home area to Springfield, Missouri, about a year ago. They love Branson, so we invited them to a noon meal of chowder, fresh fruit, ice cream and two kinds of homemade bars, all of which I prepared in our condo. We had a great time together eating, talking, and playing Mexican Train Dominoes!

Any tips for a traveler to this resort or destination? Anything you think they should bring?
We bring games and DVDs, and we just enjoy hanging out at our resort.

Additional Comments
We appreciate the inexpensive resorts available short term (within two months) that we are able to utilize since we are retired.
