Global Discovery Vacations Review: Two Sides of Las Vegas

Global Discovery Vacations member Beth Ann D. found the best of both worlds during her recent stay in Las Vegas – buzzing entertainment on the Strip and a few scenic spots in Nevada’s rugged terrain. If you want an all-encompassing trip to Las Vegas, let Beth Ann show you how in this week’s Member Monday.

Where would you recommend a fellow member to go to…
The buffet at the Wynn hotel was amazing.

The outlet shops in Vegas were great. Loved the Fossil and Black House White market outlet stores there.

Have fun/attractions:
We did some amazing hiking at Red Rock and Valley of Fire State Park. We saw amazing views and archaeological pictographs on the sandstone from the Anasazi Indians that date back to 1,000 to 4,000 years ago.

The Neon Museum in Vegas was super cool with a lot of interesting facts and history.

What was your favorite…
Resort/Condo Amenity (Wyndham Grand Desert):
Definitely the whirlpool jet tub after a long day of hiking or walking the strip.

Place to go in the destination:
Crazy fun people-watching on Freemont Street.

Why did you choose this destination? Were you traveling for a special occasion?
We chose Vegas because of how easy it is to fly there with cheap air prices. It was also our anniversary and the area itself is so different from where we live in Michigan.

What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
We saw a fantastic show at The Wynn hotel called Le Reve – The Dream. Amazing strength and beautiful music at this show.

Any tips for a traveler going to this resort or destination? Anything you think they should bring?

  • Pack light. There is a washer dryer in the condo.
  • Use your sunscreen and lip balm – it is a dry climate.
