Global Discovery Vacations Review: Taking Mud Baths in St. Lucia

Global Discovery Vacations member Sue H. and her husband are making the most out of retirement, going where the sun shines and water glistens at every opportunity. This time around, they headed to the Bay Gardens Resort in St. Lucia and explored the lush landscapes of the island. This week’s Member Monday has all their recommendations!

Where would you recommend a fellow member to go to…
SeaGrapes on site, which was excellent.

The mall downtown. To get there, a shuttle runs every hour.

Member Sue H. caked in mud from St. Lucia’s sulphur springs.

Have fun/attractions:
Tour the island and do the sulphur springs/volcanic lava mud bath. We rented our own cab driver so could go at our own pace

What was your favorite…
Resort/Condo Amenity:
We stayed at Bay Gardens Beach Resort and all was perfect. The bar had happy hour every day, the welcome reception was fun, the beach was beautiful and the staff is the best.

Place to go in the destination:
The resort has so much to offer, such as the Piton water ride.

A view of the Pitons, two volcanic plugs on St. Lucia.

Why did you choose this destination? Were you traveling for a special occasion?
We had not been to St. Lucia and we heard the island was beautiful.

What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
The volcanic sulfur springs mud bath.

Any tips for a traveler going to this resort or destination? Anything you think they should bring?
Swim suits.

Additional Comments:
This was one of our favorite places. The St. Lucia people are so very friendly and kind to tourists.
