Global Discovery Vacations member Rita T. had nothing bad to say about her recent stay in Palm Springs, California. She wasn’t even sure she would like California at first, but it turned out to be just the place to enjoy some natural and historic sightseeing! She gives us her top picks in this week’s Member Monday.
Where would you recommend a fellow member to go to…
Manhattan in the Desert for breakfast and Al Dente pasta and Fisherman’s Market and Grill for dinner. All were great!
We didn’t do any “shopping” per se, but a stroll down the main strip (Palm Canyon Drive) would be fun.
If you have time and enjoy wine, go to Temecula County and visit the wineries. Great views and awesome wineries – well worth a day trip
What was your favorite…
Resort/Condo Amenity (Desert Isle of Palm Springs):
Pretty much everything. It was clean, had just about everything you’d want in a resort, and it was small and not crowded at all.
Why did you choose this destination? Were you traveling for a special occasion?
We were in San Diego and Fresno for business and decided to add a couple of vacation days and see Palm Springs. It’s beautiful. You won’t be disappointed!
What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
This was our first and second trip to California. We never thought we’d like California but we love it. We love the variable climate and terrain of the state.
My husband travels out of state a couple of times a year for business and we’ve been able to use our Global Discovery Vacations membership to tack on a week of vacation before or after his business trip for a very affordable price.
Scheduling a week in a condo through GDV is much cheaper than staying in the “business resort” for two or three days. This has enabled us to double the amount of traveling/sight seeing we might normally do.
How long have you been a Global Discovery Vacations member?
Why did you join the club?
We have friends who are members and we vacationed with them a couple of times at a few GDV condos and felt it was well worth the money. Plus, we enjoy traveling!
How many trips have you taken using your membership?
At least six. Plus three more with our friends prior to joining.
Why do you think traveling is important?
There is a lot to see and do outside of your home state. Life is short. We love visiting new places and having new experiences. We enjoy trying local restaurants and touring new cities. There is so much to see and do!
