Global Discovery Vacations Review: Leaving the Cold for Cabo

Isn’t mid-January a great time to visit Cabo San Lucas? Global Discovery Vacations member Linda R. seems to think so. Staying at the Los Cabos Golf Resort in Mexico, she was kind enough to document her time in the sun for this week’s Member Monday.

Where would you recommend a fellow member to go to…
Eat
Besides eating at the resort (there was a fantastic Mexican buffet night), we also went to Flora Farms, which is 100 percent organic. Everything is grown on the farm.

Another place we loved was Sunset Mona Lisa, which is outdoors along the water and everyone has a perfect view of the sunset over the sea. Gorgeous!

For variety we enjoyed an Italian restaurant, Pan di Bacco.

Have fun/attractions
We took a one-day tour of the area, which included a glass-bottom boat out to El Arco with sights of tropical fish and sea lions. It also included a glass-blowing factory, tequila tasting, lunch in San Jose and a visit to the old mission church. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable of the history and he took pictures to share with all of us.

What was your favorite…
Resort/Condo Amenity:
The condo itself was huge for three people and very clean. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Why did you choose this destination? Were you traveling for a special occasion?
If anyone has spent January in Chicago, they will know why we went. Every day was 75 to 80 degrees with sunshine.

Any tips for a traveler going to this resort or destination? Anything you think they should bring?
The resort is easy to get to. We took a shuttle from San Jose, which took about 40 minutes. Once there, everything was easy to get to by taxi.  Everyone speaks enough English to get you where you want to go.

About you

How long have you been a Global Discovery Vacations member?
My husband and I have been members since 2011 and we take two to three Global trips every year.

Why did you join the club?
We bought it before we were retired, but now, because we are retired, we can go whenever we want to. It has made travel very affordable for us. We have taken along other family members and our children use it too. Some of our favorite places are Sedona, Kauai, Las Vegas, Destin and Orlando.
