Global Discovery Vacations Review: The Beach is Steps away at Sea Shells Beach Club

When you want to get away from the winter, travelers like member Jean S. make like birds and fly south. In her yearly trip to warmer waters, Jean stayed at the fabulous Sea Shells Beach Club in Daytona Beach, Florida, strolling on the beach right outside her condo. Here’s a little more of her recommendations in this week’s Member Monday!

Where would you recommend a fellow member go to…
Eat:
We usually eat at the condo but did splurge on Joe’s Crab shack. We hear good things about many of the seafood places in the area.

What was your favorite…
Resort/Condo Amenity:
This year we chose Sea Shells Beach Resort for two weeks. This is our second time here and love it just as much as the first time. The one bedroom condos are spacious, the king bed comfortable and the view wonderful. The staff goes beyond needed to keep you happy. You get housekeeping twice a week. The heated salt water pool is a great amenity to enjoy.

Place to go in the destination:
We love walking along the seashore, visiting the stores and enjoying the pool. We are central to many local attractions and made a visit again to St Augustine to see the fort and old town. We also have family who live near so it makes it convenient to visit from here.

Why did you choose this destination? Were you traveling for a special occasion?
We have become snowbirds from Michigan. We travel to South Carolina and Florida for the months of January and February, plus part of March.

About You

How long have you been a Global Discovery Vacations member?
We have been members of Global for over 10 years.

How many trips have you taken using your membership?
After my husband retired two years ago, we bought a second membership to have more weeks for our travels. We have used Global to vacation in a variety of places over 35 times. This year for the first time we used the cruise app for our cruise.

We are both retired and this is why we bought our first membership looking at using it for our retirement since we love to travel. This way, we can go to many different places see the sights and stay in a great place at a reasonable price.

  1. I would like someone to look into booking pet friendly lodgings. We have found there are many condos and others who are pet friendly, but none on Global. Hence we haven’t used Global in over a year.

    • Hi Robert,

One of our agreements with resorts and homeowners is that our guests cannot bring pets to preserve the condition of the unit and help reduce allergens for future guests. Though you can find different regulations based on independent resorts and homeowners, most travel clubs we know offer the same policy as we do. We will however forward your message to our property management team to see if there is any insight they can give us on the pet policy.
