Member Glad M. and her husband turned a business trip to the Northwest into a scenic vacation along the Pacific coast. Check out the sights they saw while staying at the Embarcadero resort in this week’s Member Monday.
Where would you recommend a fellow member to go to…
Local Ocean Seafood in Newport and Tidal Raves in Depoe Bay.
Locally made clothes and arts on the street along the docks.
A five-hour deep sea fishing trip, where one could drop a crab pot. My husband caught enough fish and Dungeness crabs to feed us for a week.
What was your favorite…
We stayed for a week at Embarcadero in a one-bedroom condo. We could see the bay and its activity – it was a good waterfront location.
Then we went north to Tillamock Cheese Factory and took a day trip to Mt. Hood at the end of ski season (it was snowing lightly).
Why did you choose this destination? Were you traveling for a special occasion?
We enjoy the Oregon coast and had a conference scheduled in Vancouver, Washington.
What was your favorite memory of your vacation?
My husband saltwater fishes in the Gulf of Mexico by where we live. The highlight for him was the five-hour fishing/crabbing trip.
Any tips for a traveler to this resort or destination? Anything you think they should bring?
Bring comfortable walking shoes that can get wet and layered clothing. Check anticipated weather forecast for the time of year.
